I had this sweet encounter today in the forest while on a frosty and long trail run. I almost stepped on something that looked like a black stone, but it moved! I realized it was a little black mouse. I thought she might be frozen to the ground, like the dead rabbit I saw earlier. But she ran off for cover when I got closer.
Since, I thought I might be able to take some beautiful pictures of the snowy forest today, I had my GoPro in my back pocket. And just when I started the video the mouse re-appeared and ran over to me. And sat on the toe box of my ON running shoes. She might have enjoyed some body warmth. I got a little too close with my camera, so she hopped off and onto the other shoe. After a short rest, she ran off about her own business back into her forest.
Stay warm my little furry friend - until next time.
Having slight OCD, I always have a hard time to decide which way to go, as I wanted to explore both these roads. However I took the left one, as this led to the peak.
Frosty selfie on top of McCullough peak. It took me an hour to get there, as it felt like running on sand with all that fresh pow.
Definitely winter at last!
